Deepika Padukone, a new find of Indian Cinema, was born on the 1st January, 1986 , in Copenhagen, Denmark, is an Indian model & Actress. Deepika is the daughter of former badminton Champion Mr. Prakash Padukone and mother Mrs. Ujjala Padukone, who is a travel agent. Deepika’s younger sister, Anisha Padukone is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer.. Deepika’s mother tongue is Tulu. Deepika Padukone has done her schooling in Sophia High School in Bangalore. Deepika completed her ICSE studies from Mount Carmel College, Bangalore. During her school days, Deepika played badminton at the state level like her father and was a member of her father's badminton club. However, Deepika wasn't keen on pursuing a career as a badminton player and abandoned it because of her ICSE exams. During college studies, Deepika has modeled for Liril, Dabur Lal powder, Close-Up toothpaste and Limca. Deepika Padukone hit the international scene when Maybelline made her their new international cover-girl face. Deepika was awarded the title of Model of the Year at the 5th annual Kingfisher Fashion Awards and she was chosen as one of the models for the Kingfisher Swimsuit Calendar, 2006. After tasting a success in Model World, Deepika entered into Indian Cinema with Kannada Movie, “Aishwarya” in 2006. Later on, Deepika made a debut in Bollywood industry with a blockbuster movie, Om Shanti Om in 2007. Besides movies, Deepika has done some music albums also.
