Amrita Rao, slim beauty of Indian Cinema, was born on 07.06.1981, in Chitrapur, Karnataka, India, is a Bollywood Actress and Model. Amrita Rao belongs to Chitrapur Saraswat Brahmin Konkani speaking family in Mumbai. Amrita Rao’s father, Mr. Deepak Rao, is famous in model world, being the owner and director of an advertising agency. Amrita Rao done her schooling from C.G High School in Mumbai, and later pursued degree in psychology from Sophia College. While studying there, Amrita Rao auditioned for an advertisement for Fairever Face Cream, and was selected amongst 60 other contestants. And, she has modeled for nearly 35 advertisements uptill. Amrita began her career as a model, but eventually started acting, with a Bollywood movie in Ab Ke Baras (2002). Being entered with a flop film, Amrita came into limelight with Ishq Vishk (Ken Ghosh's love-story) (2003) earning her first Filmfare nomination in the Best Female Debut category. She proceeded to gain a lot of fame with films like Main Hoon Na (2004) and Vivah (2006), her biggest commercial success so far, which propelled her into the highest tier of Bollywood actresses and earned her a Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Award. Amrita Rao has also acted in a Telugu Movie against Mahesh Babu.
