Vidya Balan, a girl next-door look-a-like beauty of Bollywood, was born on the 1st January, 1978, at Ottapalam, Kerala, India. is an Indian Actress and former model. Vidya brought up at Mumbai and done her schooling from St. Anthony's Girls High School in Chembur, Mumbai. Vidya completed her graduation from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai, in sociology. Vidya started her career with a Malayalam film “Chakram”, opposite Mohanlal but the movie was not released. Later on, Vidya signed for a Tamil film, “Run”, opposite Madhavan, but due to some reasons, she was dropped. In the jinx driven industry, Balan was dropped from her second Tamil movie “Manasellam” opposite “Srikanth”, on the grounds of 'non-performance' and was replaced by Trisha Krishnan. Upset with film industry, Vidya turned to television advertising in 1998 and appeared in numerous television ads. With a Bengali film, Bhalo Theko in 2003, for which she won Anandalok Puraskar Best Actress award of Bengali film industry. Vidya Balan started her second string in film industry. With this energy, Vidya debut in Bollywood with a hit movie, Parineeta in 2005, for which she won Filmfare Best Female Debut Award. Vidya’s second movie in Bollywood was Lage Raho Munnai Bhai in 2006, for which she got applauds from audience and has established herself as one of the most promising actresses of the industry.
